Personal stuff

So, I thought I would take the time to update everyone on some things. I know I posted about to grieve and that is something I'm dealing with and giving myself time to heal. Just doing my best to remember the good times we shared!!

So, I'll start with my mom. She had knee replacement surgery on Monday and she is doing really well. Mom came home on Tuesday and can bend her knee to 92 percent which is good. She receives physical therapy at home and recovery time is about six to eight weeks. So, now I'm hoping her pain is gone and she walks better than she has for years!!

I've been struggling with some news with myself and my health. It's nothing major and anything but just something I want to keep in check. I've been able to lose some weight. I started at 215 and now I'm 202.5 and I'm maintaining it at the moment. I've been trying to figure out a new plan to keep working through with my body boss program to help support my weight management. I was asked to keep track of my blood pressure at home for four weeks and go back for a follow-up. It turns out that I'm borderline with having high blood pressure and my pulse is higher than the doctor would like, so I was placed on a beta blocker to help lower the blood pressure and pulse rate. It runs in my family so that plays a big part in it as well. So, I'm trying to take it one day at a time and really keep working on my portion control and drink more water and ice tea.

And I have to thank some amazing cheerleaders for their help and support and extra care in their help with my writing and editing. Mostly about the editing process and really offering me the basics of editing. And opening my eyes to the entire depth editing can go to shape the final piece for posting. I have to admit and be honest that I had no clue or understanding of the depths of editing of any story. Having an idea now about editing, I feel confident that I can manage my editing better than I have in the past. I'm very grateful for the time they have spent working with me and answering my questions regarding editing and making me feel good about practicing the steps on my own. And being okay with taking my time on writing any story and it's okay how many times I work through it to shape it into a well worthy piece!! Thank you [personal profile] spiralicious and [personal profile] vexed_wench!! Without your blunt honesty and kindness, I would still be writing and not be making any progress. I just very grateful that I have you in my life and that your willing to work with me to help me understand the basics of writing that I did not have when I first started my journey. And thank you to some other cheerleaders that have helped and guided me along the way with my writing too. [personal profile] kiramaru7, [personal profile] deanshot1, and [personal profile] majestic_duxk (thanks for all your help with betaing and doing your best to explain what I was not getting. And working through cultural differences that played a role in many misunderstandings along the way. Thank you for all your help and support.)
