Talk about a fandom experience you feel was formative for you.

I remember exactly when, because I made a note to ask those in fandom on my WishList in 2007, which can be found here and two fabulous people helped me to understand the terminology of fan-fiction. Though I must say, I'm still confused by some of the terminology in fan-fiction to start with. As time goes on, I still ask questions about fandom and everyone is eager to respond and share with me. I asked about where to look for beta readers and alpha readers and the encouragement for writing and all have been so helpful and very informative.

That's interesting. When I was starting out, a lot of fandom was just sort of figuring out what different terms meant based on the context. It's great that you found people to help explain things to you.

Yeah it was, I mean I felt like an idiot for not knowing what PWP meant and other terms as well. It was nice that I had people explain things to me!!! Fandom is really a learning curve I have to say.
