Well I wanted to share my feelings and thoughts on the Finale. I enjoyed it and bawled my eyes out, especially the brotherly moments between Sam/Dean. I would have to say those scenes and moments brought tears to my eyes.
The ending scenes from the Metatron fight till the credits broke my heart though I am happy to see the brothers finally to some degree understand perspectives of each other and why they make the choices they make in the end.
My heart was so pleased to see Sam react the way he did...its about time!!! I mean everyone knows that Sam loves Dean and vice verse but its always been Dean having to show how much he cares and loves Sam. It was a heartwarming moment to see Sam finally get that understanding and finally pushed hard enough to put his wall down and be vulnerable to show Dean how much he means to him and loves him!!
I love how Sam is helping Dean out of the building and Dean asks Sam "I thought you were okay with this?" and Sam blatantly, openly honest states "I lied." Wow!! It was like a punch in the gut of realization. Sam never wanted to lose Dean no matter what shit happens between them and Sam never wanted to see Dean go down in the manner. Knowing in his heart that Dean never wanted that for Sam.
And despite every emotion Dean is going through, it broke my heart to see him reaching out to Sam and saying "I'm proud of us." GAH!!! Its a start at the healing process between them both, because I don't think they have been on the same page for a long time. And I know that its not much to fix their current relationship with each other but its a clear indicator that Dean has forgiven Sam and never gave up hope of "them." I think Our Sammy is back and now its time to get our Dean back. I am not excited regarding demon Dean, but I an interested in seeing where they bring Dean's story line to life. Its nice to finally see Dean have a story line that is developing and will have an end point some where.
Though it brings me back to the Season One finale - where John is possessed by Azazel and tells Dean, "Dean needs his family more then his family needs him." I think this statement has been true throughout their journey to where they are today. I believe that his family needs him but not as much as Dean needs them. Though I think throughout their moment before Dean does die that Sam finally put his foot down and was no longer afraid to show that his big brother means so much to him and more. And in a way Sam taught Dean that he should care about himself and that he is not invisible. I am hoping that Sam can teach Dean that he is worthy of having friends and a family that loves him unconditionally and put all the guilt and anger to the side and just be Dean. Funny, annoying, and a bad ass hunter at the end of the day.
I hate having to wait for the new season to start but I needed to share my thoughts and get it out there. I have read many others recaps and I have to say I agree with many of you more then I can say or even express. I thank you all for sharing your thoughts, opinions, and feelings regarding the topic.
Jared and Jensen are amazing actors and I wish they were truly recognized for their amazing talent of acting and their emotions and connection they have on screen. They hit it out of the ballpark and the fans are screaming. Anyway I hope for a very exciting Season 10....
